We are supporting Buffy for State Assembly District 15 (See Map) because we know her, and believe in her abilities and her vision. buffywicks.com/priorities/. As a community organizer, Buffy helped create Barack Obama’s grassroots campaign for President.Buffy_BG_May2017 via buffywicks.com/photos
As Obama’s Director of Community Outreach, she worked to pass the Affordable Care Act. Buffy is endorsed by many local community leaders and workers’ unions, as well as President Obama and Senator Kamala Harris. Buffy has written a campaign document to rebut negative attacks and untruths about her “Setting the Record Straight.”

Four loyal supporters of the Berkeley Public Library Foundation www.bplf.org attended a special luncheon yesterday at SF’s elegant Boulevard Restaurant www.boulevardrestaurant.com (Photo from left):  Barbara Manierre, Rachelle Owen, Toni Garrett, Julie Nachtwey.  Hostess was columnist Leah Garchik, SF CHRONICLE. Renowned Chef Nancy Oakes greeted the women as they dined on crispy squash blossoms and Chioggia Beet Ravioli. Boulevard is located at 1 Embarcadero, in the historic Audiffred Building built in 1889.  It’s one of the city’s oldest remaining buildings from early San Francisco, City landmark #7.

The luncheon was offered as an auction item at the Foundation’s annual Authors Dinner held in early February. BPLF has raised more than $3.5m to renovate Berkeley’s main library and four branches. The current goal is to create a “Teen Center” in the main library building. The Berkeley Public Library offers Berkeley residents more than 300 viable programs and services such as how to read, use a computer, fill out a job application, make a budget and much, much more.
