Try it you’ll like it! My granddaughter age three and I had ball on our recent train trip to Truckee. The ride took 5 ½ enjoyable hours. Amtrack trains head for Truckee each day from the Emeryville Station. We left at 9:10am. It’s cool to give the conductor your paper ticket. The best views are from the Observation Car, with its clear-light windows and comfy cushioned seats. Lunch was available in the dining car.  We chatted with other passengers from near and far. Some folks were signed up for the sleeper cars, destined for Denver or Chicago. We arrived at 2:38pm. After exploring the train museum, we boarded the TART bus which dropped us at our doorstep in Squaw Valley. Can’t wait to take the train again!

Police say that’s a key to staying safe. Help your neighbors and they’ll help you. Our National Night Out pot luck last night was fun! My Berkeley/Oakland neighborhood is a tapestry of ages. Some folks just moved in, others have lived here 50 years or more! The mission of National Night Out is to build community and better relationships with the police. Find out more!
