Count and Be Counted
You’re invited this Friday evening April 29 at 7:30 pm to visit Mrs. Dalloway’s Bookstore for a book reading and ideas on how to get involved.
Author Arthur Blaustein will be reminding us of the merits of community service in DEMOCRACY IS NOT A SPECTATOR SPORT: the Ultimate Volunteer Handbook.

Blaustein is a professor at UC Berkeley for community development, public policy and politics. He has served key positions in past administrations as board member of the National Endowment for the Humanities and chair of the President’s National Advisory Council of Economic Opportunity.
In his book, Blaustein recommends both short-term and long-term plans of action for civic engagement. Also included are interviews and commentary from leaders of non-profit and civic involvement groups.
Senator John Kerry said about this book “…a blueprint and guidebook to help get us all involved.”
Mrs. Dalloway’s Literary & Garden Arts is located at 2904 College Avenue near the corner of Russell, adjacent to The Elmwood Cafe.
